JPCERT/CC participates "No More Ransom" to Combat Ransomware as a Supporting Partner
On April 5, 2017, JPCERT Coordination Center (JPCERT/CC, Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo, Board Chairman: Kazumasa Utashiro), announced the participation to "No More Ransom", a global project which aims to reduce the damage of ransomware by collaborating with law enforcement agencies and private partners.
Based on the background that ransomware threat is on the rise worldwide, "No More Ransom" project was launched in July 2016 by the joint effort of Dutch National Police, The European Police (Europol), Intel Security and Kaspersky Lab. This project aims to disseminate information about the danger of ransomware as well as to provide useful resources such as free decryption tools in order to help victims to recover their data without having to pay ransom to the cybercriminals. Today, national police agencies and security related private partners across the globe join this project, making a total of 76 organizations involved.
JPCERT/CC will cooperate as a Supporting Partner of this project.
